The CSSS offers health and social services to the community including rehabilitation services and long-term care. As a Centre affilié universitaire de gérontologie sociale it also has a teaching and research mandate.

|Volunteer Requirements (language, special skills, etc.)||
Languages: English and/or French, a 3rd language an asset
Qualities/Skills: active listener, patient, at ease with people and conversation, responsible, sense of humour, and respectful of other people’s opinions, culture, beliefs, and religion.
Volunteers are recruited for both one on one and group work.
Home Support Services can be done weekly for one to two hours for a minum 4 month period
Rehabilitation Hospitals: 3 hours weekly required for a minimum of 3 months, weekdays only. An evening walking program is open to students available from 5:30 to 7:30pm at the Richardson Hospital.

Interview, 2 references required, complete a police check. Once the screening process is completed, the coordinator will assign the candidate a volunteer position and location of work based on their interests, availability, and skills.
