Organization Objective

Support services for sexual assault victims in crisis situations, or who need counselling, emotional support, information or referrals.

Volunteer Job(s) and Description

Crisis line responder:
The volunteers will first attend an intensive 35 hour training session (in either Spring or Fall), during which they will acquire theoretical and experiential training on issues pertinent to women and violence, sexual assault and abuse, legal and medical procedures and active listening.

Volunteer Requirements (language, special skills, etc.)

Female volunteers, 18 years and over.
Bilingual (French and English)

Time Commitment

Four hours a week for six months. Attend a meeting one evening a month.

Application Process

To apply, fill in the application form and send to the above email or call for more information. Potential volunteers will be contacted in July (for the Fall training) and in February (for the Spring training). Following an interview with the coordinator, volunteers will then be informed if they have been selected.
