Our Mission & Mandate:
•Inform and sensitize seniors and the population at large about elder abuse and negligence
•Address the cultural diversity of the territory when accompanying seniors of French, English or Allophone communities
•Offer a safe shelter for temporary respite (if necessary)
•Offer victims of elder abuse a listening ear, support and solutions to help put an end to the abusive behaviours and to provide the opportunity to live a life without violence
•Recruit and train volunteers to provide assistance, support and accompaniment to victims of elder abuse throughout the process of addressing the abuse and working towards a life change
•Develop and strengthen intra-generational relationships among seniors of the community

The NDGCCEA and SAVA Centre-Ouest are currently looking for volunteers to accompany and support victims of elder abuse. The support may include accompanying seniors to their medical appointments, to the housing authority, to legal appointments, etc. Volunteers will be part of the response team and will participate in monthly team meetings.
. We serve the areas of Notre-Dame de Grâce, Côte Saint-Luc, Hampstead, Montréal-Ouest, Snowdon-Ouest, Côte-des-Neiges, LaSalle, Lachine, et Dorval.
In addition we are looking for volunteers to assist with website updates

We look for people retired or pre-retired in the fields of health, social relations, law, finance, education, policing, etc.
English, French & any additional languages are an asset
Four hours for training on the topic of elder abuse
